How long to have off work?

Mc at nearly 6 weeks. I can’t concentrate on much atm and just want to be pregnant again. I work with children and it’ll be hard for me to return quickly.

I can have a week off which is special leave and full paid. If I need another week as sick, I am not penalised for taking up to two weeks off in total as it’s protected leave due to the pregnancy loss.

I know it’s a personal thing but what would you do if you were me? I’m worried if I have a loss in the future I can’t keep taking two weeks off, can I? But at the same time I just don’t feel ok to go atm.

I’d take the two weeks, that’s what I had, and I don’t work with kids. Don’t worry about the future. And don’t feel you have ti rush to TTC again, let yourself grieve fully, your partner as well. Consider some counselling if you can afford it, made a massive difference to me.

Take as much as you can, I went back too soon.

I stupidly went into work the same day last time. Take as much time as you need, I personally have found it easier to carry on as normal, sitting at home would give me too much time to think about it.

At 6 weeks, some would not take any time off, some might. You do whatever you feel you need. There is no one answer.

At 6 weeks I'd take a week. I miscarried at 16 weeks and took 2 weeks.

I didn't take any time off after mine as I felt OK to work. It's really up to you and how you feel, no one can tell you the right amount of time to have off just wait until you're ready

I didn't take any time off for mine in March last year except for the surgical management and really regretted it a I was an emotional mess. I also work with kids.
I didn't take any time off for any of the other mc as they were less emotive.

I work in child safeguarding and took 3 weeks off work also mc at 6 weeks. I actually go back tomorrow so wish me luck! Take all the time you need. No matter what gestation you were the trauma of losing a pregnancy is huge. Especially if working around children. I’m so glad I took 3 weeks off as I’ve been able to get myself to the best headspace I can.

Everyone is different and cope in their own way. Do what is right for your healing!

Do what you feel you need. There's no right answer. I took 5 weeks. I was 10 weeks
