Does this look like it could be from a miscarriage? I started with some bright pink bleeding last night, but as it was after intercourse I didn’t worry too much, and it was only present when I wiped. This morning it was the same, but at around midday a gush of bright red blood came and some abdominal cramping started. Over the next few hours bleeding continued like a period and I started passing some small tissue like clots. This continued and then an hour ago I passed the two larger tissues in the image. I am going to call the early pregnancy unit tomorrow but wanted to know what people think this could be. Thank you so much

I'd say it looks like it, I'm so sorry 😔 I lost mine at 11 weeks so it was a bit more obvious when I passed the baby but the lighter stringy bits on the clots look the same as part of what I passed. For me i was told it was the start of what would form the umbilical cord but I don't know if that would apply to you so early on.

Thank you so much for your reply, yeah I’m definitely preparing for the worst case scenario 😣 I have been looking at pictures posted by others of possible miscarriages but it’s just so hard to tell if it is or something completely different. Hoping to get a scan asap to confirm.. thank you again!

I have something similar right now?
Did you get seen? EPU won't see me till the 16th!!!

Beck012 · 05/02/2024 22:21

im so sorry you’re going through the same, I was seen last night at my local A&E department and had bloods which I were told were ‘okay’ and they done pregnancy test which they said was a faint positive. I then had a vaginal examination and the dr explained that my cervix wasn’t open however he could see blood still in the cervix and so it could possibly be a threatened miscarriage or an ectopic pregnancy. I’m booked in for a further appointment tomorrow with a midwife which will hopefully give me a definite answer! The waiting and unknown is the worst😔 I’m not sure where abouts you’re located but I rang 111 yesterday and explained my symptoms, a nurse then called me back and got me booked in at A&E so that I was seen by someone there, it might be worth doing that if you have that service available? I will update tomorrow once I know more, hope you’re okay x

I was seen by EPU friday as I have had an ectopic before. They saw just a gestational sac and nothing else. My bleeding started 2 days later. Theres clots and its as heavy as a period. So i'm suspecting it wasn't viable. I booked a private scan tomorrow to confirm.

I am sorry you are going through this. Its awful and scary.

How did it go today?

Beck012 · 06/02/2024 19:25

Hey, so they done another cervix examination and said it was still closed, they then done an abdominal and vaginal ultrasound and she couldn’t see anything in my womb on either, so I had bloods done again and then have to go back Thursday for another lot of bloods so they can measure the hcg levels. They’ve described it as a pregnancy of unknown location, she said it could be too early to see anything (however I am 7 weeks today so didn’t think that it would be too early?), or the miscarriage has already passed, or ectopic pregnancy. I’m hoping for answers by the weekend, I feel sick with worry!

I've had this tonight and wonder would you say it was a miscarriage or a blood clot?

Hello, I had my second set of bloods on Thursday and was told my gp would call me to discuss the results. At the weekend I couldn’t bare the waiting around, and I took a pregnancy test (strip test) which was so faintly positive you could hardly see. That evening I took a digital one which had decreased in weeks from the first time I took one a couple of weeks ago, the next morning and also this morning I done another strip test and both were negative.. is this likely to be a miscarriage? I haven’t had any bleeding since Thursday, and all pregnancy symptoms seem to have gone .. xx

@Beck012 did they do a scan? When I had a miscarriage (11 weeks but happened around 8 weeks as I didn't start bleeding until the ) I went to an early pregnancy unit and they did a transvaginal scan. I don't remember any bloods. I didn't pass it all and had it removed surgically. I was told to test after a couple of weeks and it was eventually negative. Is there an early pregnancy unit you can book with or walk into? What's what I did but there are a few options in London. It seems strange they are just doing blood tests but I don't know for sure.

They done an ultrasound first and couldn’t see anything, so done a transvaginal ultrasound and she said my womb lining was thick but she couldn’t see anything inside it, they then told me it was a pregnancy of unknown location so it was either miscarriage that had already passed, an ectopic pregnancy, or too early to be visible and so they were going to do the blood tests 48 hours apart to measure the hcg levels, I feel so out of the loop because I haven’t heard anything regarding the results .. I did consider booking a private scan but they all say they require a positive pregnancy test and because mine are now negative I didn’t think they would let me book 😞 x

@Beck012 can you phone the hospital for results? It's likely the pregnancy has passed itself if you're testing negative but I would like to know either way x

Hi there just read this and I wanted some advice. I sm pretty sure I have just had a loss at 6 +3, called the midwife who said it should all happen naturally, no need to call EPU and have a scan unless bleeding doesn’t stop or I’m in pain? So basically I don’t need to do anything?
is that correct or should I have a scan?

Hey, I’m so sorry I’ve just seen this! Sorry to hear you were experiencing this.. How have you been, did the pregnancy pass itself? X

Thanks, long story ended up having an emergency d and e 2 weeks ago because bleeding didn’t stop and I actually lost so much blood I needed a blood transfusion.Basically some tissue got attached which meant the miscarriage was not complete and it wasn’t coming out on its own. now know to trust my gut and push hard with healthcare professionals! Hi all!

This month I missed my period by almost 2 weeks. I didn’t want to think of it as anything without proper tests and diagnosis, but I’ve been dealing with crazy fatigue (like staying awake for just 2-3 hours, and then going back to sleep again). My period cycle is regular, with no hormonal issue.

Yesterday, I felt cramps in my lower abdomen and thought that my period is finally here. But this cramping was the worst I’ve ever experienced in my life. It was continuously painful and the first round lasted for about 6 hours. The bleeding seemed to be heavier too. Then it calmed down for a while. Then another round of jabbing started, even worse than the first round. That’s when I passed this clot/tissue. Then the pain went down.

As I mentioned earlier, I’ve a regular cycle, balanced hormones and get the similar period experience every month. But this month I was 2 weeks late, felt awful health wise and then when the cramps started, I couldn’t tolerate the pain. Plus, I’ve never noticed such big clots/tissues earlier.

Does anyone know if I could have been pregnant and miscarried?

Hi, these are all clots and not a miscarriage. The only way to confirm a miscarriage this early is a blood test, and even then you could receive a false positive.

Nyc24 · 18/05/2024 19:47

This is a clot.
