Very early miscarriage - feel rough, is it normal?

I had a pg test 3 days before my period was due (I had known from a couple of days after conception that I was pg). Then on the day my period was due I just knew I wasn't pregnant any more, and sure enough my period came and I had a negative test

I have had a fairly normalish period though I am bleeding more heavily today on day 5 than I would normally (sorry TMI) as it would normally be pretty much over by now.

But ever since Monday I have felt so tired and today I feel really sick as well. If I didn't know better I would say I felt pregnant. Is it normal to feel this crappy or is there any chance I might have picked up a mild infection? I am extra anxious as I had a very nasty womb infection after DS was born and don't want to get into that state again, though I don't feel at all like I did then.

I can't find any information online and I would be so grateful for some reassurance

how sad for you.

has the bleeding lessened at all? It is possible that you have picked up a virus. I wouldn't have though that you would have a womb infection after such an early miscarriage.

Sounds as if you might have a bit of infection, i would go and see you Dr or out of hours..... I know it sounds silly, but have you done another preg test just to amke sure ( just thinking of faint poss of twins????)

I'm also thinking maybe another pregnancy test is needed.

NineUnlikelyTales · 21/03/2008 12:22

Thanks both.

I went out to buy a pg test this morning just to be certain but both chemists are closed for Good Friday (hopefully open tomorrow). I am trying very hard not to be hopeful!

I might ring the out of hours doctors service, they are pretty good at giving advice over the phone.

have you checked your temperature?

NineUnlikelyTales · 21/03/2008 12:27

No, good idea.

37 degrees. That's normal isn't it?

that's normal.

NineUnlikelyTales · 21/03/2008 12:33

It's probably just my hormones playing me about then. I'm just waiting for the doctor to ring me back.

glad you can speak to a doctor.

NineUnlikelyTales · 21/03/2008 12:45

Thanks for taking me seriously, I have spoken to the doctor now and they advise rest and fluids, so shall take to bed.

Better luck next time eh?
