Progesterone and aspirin?

Has anyone tried either of these to help prevent early losses?

if so, what dosage/ when? I’ve read a lot of conflicting stuff about aspirin.

I spoke to a fertility specialist who told me he didn’t think these would do much for me, but I figure it’s worth a try.

I was on both.200mg Progesterone and 10mg Asprin.
Currently watching my 2 year old sleeping.
This was after 5 miscarriages.
I believe those 2 meds helped me massively.

I've had 4 Mc. I'm going to buy my own aspirin when I fall pregnant next, I went to the Gp and he wouldn't prescribe them to me. I'm on a long waiting list for a referral but he said he would contact the specialist to see if this is something he should be giving me whilst I wait for my referral, this was a month ago & not heard anything since

Hi, can I just ask if you know why such a very tiny dose of aspirin. I cant find anything smaller than 75mg? Congratulations on the little one too :)

Sorry it was 75mg.

Thanks everyone. @Lifehaslifedme at what point did you start taking the aspirin? From the point of a positive test?

We experienced two consecutive miscarriages in 2022. For our third and successful pregnancy, I was given progesterone from the EPU (I can't remember the dose off the top of my head) from a positive test and took low dose aspirin all the way through the pregnancy. We're not sure if it was these things that worked or this pregnancy was just meant to be but I'm currently cuddling our beautiful baby girl. Please don't lose hope! Xx

@Pupsandturtles I took from the moment I had a positive until 36 weeks. Baby dust to you x

Looking at both sides here but these two are not evidenced and are not necessarily a magic combination.

I took both as prescribed by the reoccurring miscarriage clinic and still miscarried but that time on those two medications, it took longer and the bleeding was more torrential.

I had so much hope in the treatment.

I was told afterwards by the “experts” at the clinic that there is no evidence to support this combination and they do not know the cause of over 80% of miscarriages but try these things anyway.

I’m not sure of any other area in medicine where they “try it anyway” without supporting science.

It’s important to be aware of all angles.

I did 150 aspirin and two progesterone a day, plus heparin. I still had miscarriages but have had one successful pregnancy, so can’t say for certain it works.

Have they managed to test any of your miscarriages to see if it was a chromosomal issue? If it is progesterone and aspirin won’t be any help.

Sorry it was 75mg.

Thank you for confirming. I dont tolerate aspirin well so I am going to have to be very careful with it if I need to take it to help my positive ANA
