Chronic placental abruption

Hi all,

I've had my placental report back from my miscarriage in October. I was 15 weeks +3 when my little girl was born. I was told I may not ever get exact answers as to why this happened but I'm just searching for further information.

The midwife said that I had chronic placental abruption and that there was no reason to think it would happen again, it was just "bad luck". After having a blighted ovum miscarriage in March last year, which was also down to "bad luck" I am just terrified to try again.

Has anyone else had any similar experience? Is there any hope of being able to have children? My heart wants to try again but my head is just too scared and tired.

Thank you xx

I’m so sorry for your loses.

I haven’t had exactly the same experiences, but I’ve had two miscarriages and an ectopic pregnancy, so I understand your fear. I’ve also had two beautiful boys although we almost gave up on trying before we were finally successful with my littlest.

I also got told it was “just bad luck” a lot, which doesn’t help. We did take a break between the second and third loss, just to regroup, and I had therapy following the third, which was a game changer.

I hope there’s some good luck just around the corner for you 💐
