Tummy still swollen after miscarriage. Is this normal?

I had a miscarriage a week ago today (21st of January), I was 8 weeks pregnant. I'd had some cramping on and off that day but nothing horrific. I did think it was maybe things starting to just stretch out as in my two previous pregnancies. However, Sunday night I stood up only to experience a massive gushing feeling, looking down to see I was covered in blood and passed a very large clot.

This week I have been extremely bloated. My stomach has been sensitive and still feels delicate. I'm a week away from it now but my stomach is still big and puffy, not painful just feels tender and weird. I've never had a miscarriage before so unsure of how they physically feel. Is this all normal? I've been gentle with myself this week, particularly due to having little support. I've taken the week off work, can't really afford to but I've prioritised my health over a tough financial month to follow.

Any responses will be greatly appreciated. Thank you.

Are you still bleeding? Have you had a scan? It could be normal but you may need checking for an infection or retained products, I’d contact the GP in the morning for advice.

@TeaKitten no not still bleeding. Bleeding stopped a couple of days ago. Haven't had a scan.

I’d deff speak to the GP for some advice then. With my miscarriage I bled for about 2 weeks, but it’s different for everyone. It could be totally normal but I’d want to check the miscarriage is complete. Sorry for your loss OP
