Medically managed MMC - do I HAVE to take the second dose?

I opted to take misoprostol at home, I was told to insert the first four vaginally, followed by another two after 3 hours. But the box and leaflet say to take the additional 2 IF the miscarriage hasn't started.

It started an hour after inserting the first lot, and I was in the most agony I've ever felt in my life. I rang the EPU to ask if I really needed to take the rest and they said yes, to make sure all the products are out.

I've passed so much tissue, I'm certain the sac passed, and I'm bleeding heavily. Would I be silly to not take the other two just because I don't want to cramp and throw up again?

I've decided to just take the second dose as I'd rather have it all over with if possible.

Sending love to everyone in a similar boat.

Also wanted to send positive thoughts and say I've been there and it's horrid. For what it is worth, I think you have done the right thing taking the second dose. Hopefully it will be all over soon.

Thank you @GelatoPistacchio - I'm sorry you've been through it too. The second dose actually had little effect so hopefully all dealt with so I can start to move on.

I'm so sorry. I hope it's over soon. My 3rd MC I took the tablets the same as you but I did it in hospital. I had no pain at all though but I worked myself up so much.

That sounds horrific. I don't know why women are expected to endure this alone without any medical care. It's barbaric. I hope you are ok.

Sending solidarity. I had the same, and have never felt pain like it before. Hope you are doing better today
