Why am I still bleeding?

Hi everyone,
I had a spontaneous miscarriage at 11.5 weeks on the 24th December. It was all managed naturally. What’s worrying me a little is that I’m still bleeding now. I had a scan last weekend which confirmed that I had a clot that still needed to come out. I then passed this on Tuesday, so I assumed my bleeding would now stop. It’s very light but is it normal to bleed for over 5 weeks even if everything is cleared? I had a HCG blood test last weekend, my numbers have been coming steadily down since the start and I was at 83. I’m due to go back tomorrow to check if it’s gone below 20. Can anybody offer any advice if they’ve had a similar experience?

I bled for around 6 weeks after one of my mc, it was pretty heavy too.

This happened to me, I bled for 12 weeks, I had an infection, I got antibiotics and bleeding stopped/all cleared up within 48 hours. I'd pop to the GP (easier said than done I know!)

I had a mc at 14 weeks some years ago- it took much longer than I expected to feel well again, and I was still passing clots weeks later. Went back to A&E twice before getting a d&c which should have been done in first place.
Sad to say, medical care for this sort of thing is really hit and miss, you might need to be very pushy to get another scan.

I’ve had one course of antibiotics already but I’m thinking I may need another one! 🙈

Just a little update. I went back to the EPU today and was examined by the doctor. They found some clots were lodged in my cervix and have removed them. They’ve also given me some tablets to hopefully evacuate anything else that could be left. I’m going back tomorrow for an ultrasound. Thanks for all your advice!
