Hi,

just looking for some similar stories and to potentially tell me what to think ( although I know really I just want to hear others thoughts)

on Sunday I started bleeding a, brown to start and I went for a private scan who showed me a sac and yolk measuring at 5.3 weeks. After I left through Sunday and Monday the bleeding got worse, I was bleeding red and small clots with quite a bit of pain.

today I went to the epu who examined me and said my cervix was closed but she could see bleeding coming from it? Not sure what that means. I’d also passed a bit of grey/red tissue in my pad which I showed her. She wasn’t able to do a internal scan as the machine wasn’t working but done one on my stomach and said she couldn’t see anything but not uncommon at this stage and she couldn’t 100% confirm until Monday when she has booked me in for….

now the bleeding has eased and the cramps are slowing which I think it’s because I have passed most of the pregnancy tissue however could I be stupid for holding onto hope on Monday?

anyone got any similar stories?

x

I’m really sorry you’re going through this. I’ve been there and it’s so stressful.

Some women just get bleeds. It happened to my friend — with all three of her pregnancies she had bleeds that were almost like periods, but healthy babies. I wasn’t so lucky, but just because you’re bleeding, it doesn’t necessarily mean the worst.

I know it’s hard, but try to relax, especially as the bleeding has stopped. Then find out that they have to say on Monday. I hope everything is OK for you

Sorry, I didn’t explain - the bleeding hasn’t stopped it’s slowed down but still like a light period and fresh blood with mild cramps now.

it’s the fact there was like a tissue type clot rather than a blood clot that makes me think it was the actual tissue of the baby

You may be right, but it’s difficult to know for sure at this stage, and there’s a chance it’s still OK.

Try taking a pregnancy test, but if it is a miscarriage it may be too early for the hormones to have subsided, you may have to wait until Monday to find out for sure.

I’ve been there, waiting, and it’s agony. I felt so powerless and was desperate for some certainty. Do you have support from a partner/family/friends?
