Natural Miscarriage - how long did you bleed?

I started spotting on Friday morning. Continued fairly light, but with increasing heaviness throughout the weekend and then it's gotten quite heavy/clotty/stringy (sorry if TMI!) over the past couple of days. Although this afternoon, it seems to be slowing down - plenty when I use the bathroom, but none really making it's way on to my pad. I'm scheduled for a D&C this Thursday, but I wondering if I've been through the worst of it?

How long can you expect to bleed if everything were to progress naturally?

Mine has varied bu it does sound like you are over the worst of it. Could you get another scan to check and then cancel the d&c if its all gone?

I bled for just over two weeks with my first MC at 11 weeks. IIRC, after the forst few days, it slowed right down and varied from day to day, partly due to my uterus contracting down I guess.

Second one was at 6 weeks and that was more like a heavy period so just under a week.

Thanks for your messages. Last night was horrendous with lots of awful cramping and lots of time spent in the bathroom. This morning I had to go to the EPU for an assessment, they did a scan and the sac had been expelled - I knew it actually, I felt it last night. sorry if it's tmi.

They said there is some tissue left, but it should go on its own and they've cancelled the D&C. I was told to come back if I continue bleeding past 2 weeks. I was 11 weeks, but the fetus measured 7.

Sorry you've had to go through this PrePG , but it's better that it happened naturally I think than you needing the D&C. Take things easy, be kind to yourself and I hope things are positive for you in the future

I'm so sorry for your loss dear. I got pregnant last april and was ill for the first 11 weeks I couldnt get up, had real bad dizzy spells and soo on, my breast were growing at such a speed and i honestly believed I was carrying two. Then at 11 plus weeks I had bleeding with clots and stringy stuff. It only lasted a few hours and my hormone levels in the blood had gone right down. The dc said it couldnt be a miscarriage as I had no pains and they couldnt do a scan on me as I was not 12 weeks plus. After this incident I felt I was only carrying 1 which was confirmd by scan at a later date. My midwife told me it was more thn likely I had miscarried after I had told her the full story and as soon as I had the loss I felt so much better physically. I still cannot forget my loss and had no1 to talk to either. A loss whether at 5 weeks or 7 months is always hard to cope with and I really do feel for you dear.

THanks for all of your messages. My bleeding has officially stopped after about 11 days or so.

I was about 6 weeks and bled for 3 weeks. It was light everyday except for 3 though.
