Fetus shrinks?

Hello
Had a scan on Sunday morning because of some bleeding and it showed an embryo measuring about 7 weeks with no heartbeat. I was meant to be 11 weeks pregnant. I read somewhere that after a mmc the fetus begins to shrink at the same rate that it had been growing - which leads me to believe it died around 9 weeks or so. The doctor said he couldn't tell me when it died.

I'm just curious if anyone has heard the same?

Yes, I've heard that the fetus can shrink after miscarriage - but there is no way of knowing for sure.

Hope you are ok Prepg - when is your d&c?

Thanks everyone. I know there's no way to be sure and I know I'm driving myself nuts by even thinking about it. I guess it's just my attempt to make sense of a situation that just makes no sense at all

My D&C is Thursday - I had already taken the day off as it was meant to be my scan. Figured it would do me good to go home afterward and spend the long weekend recovering without having to give any thought to work. Have to go to the EPU tomorrow AM for an assessment.
