Did your period change after the miscarriage? Mine happened at 12 weeks, the baby was 9 weeks. I miscarried without any medical or surgical management.
Now it is my second period after miscarriage and it is so so heavy. I'm using the xl cup and super period pants together and still have to change every 40 minutes. I don't remember anything like this ever. My first period after miscarriage was normal. Nothing unusual. I'm a bit at loss as to whether this is my new norm. Confused

I don't think there is anything to report to the gp yet as I don't have any cramps thank god and otherwise feel ok

I’m sorry for your loss.

I had a difficult conception journey that included loss and IVF and the changing hormone levels played havoc with my cycle. Both in terms of much heavier periods and (sometimes) much lighter. So, the chances are it’s nothing to be concerned about. However, it does sound like very heavy bleeding so I’d go to the doctors to get it checked out, just in case.

Hopefully it’s all ok and nothing to worry about 💐

Mine was extremely heavy, far worse than the actual miscarriage itself. It stopped after 14 days, hope you’re ok!

Thank you. It is slightly better today but still far too heavy for day 3. I have always had a short cycle with long periods. And now this on top. Bother.

Did you have HCG tests after the MC?

Perhaps you have Retained product coming out along the menstruation.

NinNinJin · 12/01/2024 16:50

@Cherry35 oh no. It is my second period after miscarriage. So def all clear.
For anyone reading it later. Just to reassure. On day 6 it all stopped. So perhaps not gonna be so bad after all.

It definitely can happen. I had retained products for 3 periods when I had a MMC. You could get an HCG test just to be sure it's all gone.

Retained products were not large enough to require surgery so they kept telling me to wait for the next period.
