Period after miscarriage

What was your first period like after your miscarriage?
I am currently on day 7 and experiencing huge clots (bigger than a 50p), bled constantly for an hour last night on the toilet. When will it end?

i had a miscarriage before conceiving my last baby (who is now 2) and I will never ever forget the first period after it. It was so heavy I thought I was going to pass out one day! Large clots, and so painful. It went on for 10 days. I did eventually go for a scan to check it was all ok because the GP said I might have retained something but it had all gone. If you’re still bleeding on the 27th when the docs open it might be worth going along to see if you can get a scan? Obviously if it gets worse before that I’d seek more immediate help but I do think that first period is a horrendous one. For me, it was honestly worse than the actual miscarriage - I had more bleeding and it went on far longer. And was more painful (physically!).

@Rafalito it’s so concerning isn’t it?! As you said, it is worse than the actual miscarriage! Glad to know it’s not just me though xx
