Refused tests after multiple miscarriages

I have had 2 successful pregnancies, but multiple miscarriages as well.

I have now had my 6th MC, and have now met the three in a row threshold. My others were interspersed with having my living children.

the GP has said I still cannot have any tests because:

1 - I have had successful pregnancies in the past
2 - I had some blood tests such as thyroid etc eight months ago and they were ok

my DH has had multiple surgeries in the last year and I’m worried that could have affected things (one was a testicular op) and my last pregnancy I had a really traumatic birth. I have had MCs between 7 and 14 weeks.

WWYD? I know I’m lucky to have the children I do, and I am grateful. But it is still painful to lose a pregnancy.

Worth going private?

Hi OP. So sorry you've experienced so many losses. If you are based in England I think your GP is wrong. I had a GP appointment yesterday as I've just had my third miscarriage, second consecutive as the first MC was before my DS. I asked about testing and assumed I'd be told no as they haven't been consecutive. She told me the guidelines have recently changed and that women should be offered testing after 3 MC in total, they don't have to be one after the other. She referred to the Royal college of Obstetrics and Gynaecologists guidelines, you can read it here: https://www.rcog.org.uk/for-the-public/browse-our-patient-information/recurrent-miscarriage/#:~:text=When%20an%20early%20miscarriage%20happens,in%20100%20(1%25)%20women. My GP had written to my local hospital gynae dept for confirmation of tests, but she said I can have bloods done one they've confirmed.

I'd go back to your GP and maybe ask to see someone else if your get the same response. Good luck with everything x
