Hi looking for some advice…
I have a scan tomorrow where I’m fully expecting them to say I’ve had a missed miscarriage (was scanned last week no heartbeat and then had bleeding/discharge.
What are peoples experiences of treatment? Did you get a D&C quickly? I only ask as I am going to Spain next Tuesday on a much needed holiday (it is our first Christmas without our little girl who we lost suddenly in January) and ideally I could do without added complications (if this is possible).
Thank you xx

@Unitedthebest Just wanted to say I'm so, so sorry for your losses. This Friday I also have to make the decision about treatment, but for a blighted ovum. I'm guessing only your specific NHS Trust will be able to tell you about the possible waiting times for a D&C. I'm not holding my breath with mine. 😔 If you go that route, I really hope you can get the slot you want/need and that you're able to have a restorative holiday. xx

I'm sorry for you are going through this.

I have recently been in your position and went in for my scan a few weeks ago knowing they would confirm a miscarriage. I went with the attitude that I just wanted whatever procedure would mean it was all over with quickest.

They were able to offer me either D&C or surgical under general within a few days, so I opted to go under general so I wouldn't have to feel anything. I am really pleased I opted for that as I didn't see/feel a thing and was able to just wake up when it was all over. I did need bed rest for some days after, but that was mainly emotional/mental reasons.

I opted for medical management (pregnancy was measuring about 6 weeks, should have been 10) a couple of weeks ago, it wasn’t pleasant but was over and done with within the day. I took the medication on a Friday and would have been absolutely fine to travel by the Sunday - still had a bit of cramping and bleeding but very similar to a period so not unmanageable.
