Just been diagnosed after a second scan, but I'm finding it hard to let go of hope. 🙁I'm almost 41 and have a history of losses. One DD who is 17 months.
Scan 1 at 6 weeks by LMP (maybe a bit earlier due to ovulation date/later implantation): gestational sac mean diameter 4.5mm. Dated 5 weeks. HCG 2200. Told it was too early to tell. Could go either way.
Scan 2 at 7 weeks by LMP: gestational sac mean diameter 10mm. Still no yolk. Trainee sonographer said a week was too soon to rescan; he wasn't sure why they'd booked me in.
I'm due to be scanned again next Friday, just to be 110% certain.
On the EPAU nurse's recommendation, I've stopped my progesterone so I can bleed if necessary. Will be taking the medical management route if not.
No point in holding onto hope that the pregnancy will miraculously catch up, is there? 😔
