Miscarriage due to Trisomy 16

I’ve received confirmation that Trisomy 16 was the cause for my miscarriage. I’m feeling a bit deflated because my letter also said that a trisomic pregnancy means higher risk for the same thing happening in future pregnancies and even more so because of my age (I’m 40). I’m looking for success stories. Did anyone with this diagnosis went on to have a healthy pregnancy?

@Cinai I also got exact result for my miscarriage in Oct. I will be 39 in July.

Sorry to hear that you’re in the same boat. I’m pregnant again now, only 7 weeks but there’s a heartbeat, that’s further than I got last time (although it’s still early days, of course). Hoping for a positive journey for you!

Hi @Summerrose24 thank you, I’m currently 32 weeks pregnant, all went well this time round, I had a NIPT done at 11 weeks that didn’t show any increased risk for genetic abnormalities. Sorry to hear that you’ve had the same result, all the best for your journey and a successful pregnancy in future!
