Hi all, really hoping for some advice or stories of similar experiences.
I am currently pregnant. By my dates I should be 9 weeks pregnant. At what I thought was 8 weeks I started getting some brown blood which turned red within an hour (this was right after I had exercised). Early pregnancy unit said to come in and they scanned me. They found an empty sac, compatible with a 5 week pregnancy. Told me to.come back in a week as they couldn't diagnose a miscarriage unless they saw no growth.
I feel i am certain of my dates - LMP 30th September, positive test on the 29th October.
So as far as I was concerned it was a miscarriage.
I bled for 4 days. Just like a period, small clots and no pain.
When I went back last thrusday for the second scan the most I was hoping for that it was all over and there was no retained product. But to my total surprise the sonographer tells me everything is still there and growth has been consistent and she can see something growing inside the pregnancy sac. Consistent with about 6.5 weeks pregnant.
Since then I've had a little brown blood but nothing major. I have abdominal pains but no bleeding. The pain is more like round ligament pain than period cramps.
My morning sickness has been very mild where I would expect normally to be feeling very nauseous. But if the dates they've given me are correct then I guess that works as it's earlier than I thought.
I'm totally confused. The not knowing is killing me. I lost a baby in May at thirteen weeks due to an infection in my uterus and that was very traumatic. I was so happy to be pregnant again and if this is over I'd like to brace myself for that as much as possible.
Anybody have any advice or similar experiences?
