Anyone else waiting to miscarry (MMC)?

I’m finding this incredibly hard.
I was told on Monday at a scan at 9.5 weeks that baby’s heartbeat which had previously been seen had stopped at around 7.5 weeks. I chose to wait to miscarry rather than have intervention (probably because I’m in a bit of denial and think they’ve got it wrong!). However it’s really horrible waiting. I’ve got a scan today and will have the choice of surgery to be arranged which I am considering so that I can have some closure.

anyone else in the same boat? X

Hi I’m so sorry for your loss, I was in the same boat as you last month, I was in denial and just complete shock and heart break. I chose the natural route as well but was told it can take a few weeks for things to slowly get going. I was lucky as my bleeding started that night but for me, it was nothing intense but everyone’s experience is different.

I went back in to see my doctor and actually wanted to do the D&C procedure so as like you, to get some closure and to try and move forward. But was told that pretty much everything has cleared out, so I was quite lucky in that sense.

To be honest, there is no right or wrong answer to this, it’s more of doing what you feel most comfortable to do. The process itself you will still have bleeding no matter which route you go but I personally changed my mind to do the procedure because I was told that sometimes bits of tissue may be left inside so better to make sure everything is cleared out to make way for a new and healthy pregnancy. But again, since I cleared most of it out, there was no need for me to do it. Came back at a later date and doctor confirmed all is clear.

Im sorry for your loss, just do what is right for you, all the best xxx
