Any hope?

Had a missed miscarriage in August. By last period, I'm now 8.5 weeks. Had spotting all weekend and went for a private scan today (they were awful - would not recommend!). Told no heart beat, baby measured 6.5 weeks and told me to contact early pregnancy unit for a scan. Is there any chance a heart beat could be found at a second scan? Or am I right to assume it's another miscarriage...They didn't really tell me anything today. Just said "I'm sorry" and handed am overview of their findings to take to NHS.

I'm so very sorry you're going through this and that the scan place was rubbish. It's impossible to know but I've suffered 4 miscarriages and can't really sympathise, sending you lots and lots of hope and strength. You could pay for another scan asap as I know the unknown can be agonising, my gentle advice would be to contact your early pregnancy unit first thing and go through them.

I have spoken to the epu and they will call me tomorrow for an appointment, really hoping it won't be long. Thanks for the response, I really let myself hope for this pregnancy, even brought some baby bits in the sale. So grateful for my little girl, I know there's hope out there, just so hard atm
