Hi all. I fell pregnant in June and this ended in a very early loss at 4+5. We were keen to start trying again immediately and I fortunately fell pregnant in September, the second cycle after trying. Unfortunately I have just been told I’ve had a missed miscarriage and waiting a hospital appointment to discuss options, I should have been 10+3 but baby’s growth was 6 weeks. Although I am full of sadness, anger, guilt, and every other emotion under the sun I am not after pity as I know this happens to several women daily. Basically what I’d like to know is there anyone who has been through two miscarriages and successfully fell pregnant with their third pregnancy? Currently feeling like it’s never going to happen for me even though I am classed as ‘low risk’ being 26 years old, healthy BMI, active, I even paid privately for an internal ultrasound before getting pregnant to check if everything is at it should be, everything was fine. We’re going to try again ASAP after I have fully miscarried.

I'm so so sorry for your loss. I had three early miscarriages then had two boys three years apart. Lost their sister at 12 weeks. Good luck x 🙏❤️

So sorry for your losses. I had an MMC at 12 week scan, embryo also 6 weeks. Not sure if I am imagining it but there seems to be quite a lot of people diagnosed with an MMC and are told the embryo is around the six week mark. I am thinking that this point in pregnancy must be a particularly difficult point for embryos.

I thought the same, currently going through the miscarriage now after going down the medical management route but have yet to pass the sac which is worrying me

I have had 3 spontaneous miscarriages at 8w, 9.5w and 6w respectively. I had a heap of early MC ('chemical pregnancies') too. I have 2 beautiful rainbow babies. It went something like CP, CP, MC, baby, CP, CP, MC, MC, baby.

They were all different experiences in duration, discomfort and emotional toll. I would love another child but my heart and soul can't take any more potential losses and I already feel so blessed to have two healthy children, now 3 and 6m.

I'm sorry for your loss. You never forget and the anxiety never goes after you've experienced a loss but it does lessen in time.Good luck in your journey.

Did the sonographer say the sac was the right size for the pregnancy? My sac was 12 weeks but embryo six but if your sac was only 6 weeks it may be hard to see in the bleed. Thinking of you x

LW678 · 18/11/2023 18:43

@KCSIE sorry to hear about all the losses you’ve been through but so pleased you have your children to hold xx

@Longbarn5 yes embryo measured the size of a 6 week baby. I miscarried at 5 weeks last time and the sac was easily noticeable. Just not sure what to expect this time x

I had DS then three miscarriages over 4 years. Now have precious rainbow baby DD. Don’t give up. One of my friends has also just had a rainbow sibling for her daughter after five years of trying and several miscarriages. It’s hard to keep going but so worth it. 💐 for your losses and everyone else on this thread.

Umm, I'm not much help on this, sorry. Xx

Doodledeedum · 18/11/2023 19:14

@LW678 I'm so sorry for your losses.
I've had two MMC too
One discovered at 7 weeks stopped growing at 5
Second at 14 weeks ( delayed 13 week scan) stopped growing at 9 weeks ( had a scan about 2 days before baby stopped growing)

I too had uterus scans and blood tests as my GP was kind enough to listen and try and help before I got to three MCs to start any research in to why they may be recurrent
All my pregnancies were 3 cycles to fall pregnant
My third was successful ( had bleeding to start with so was monitored) i was pregnant three times in 9 months.

I'm very happy to share/discuss what else I did or even be a listening ear should you want to DM

Just to add I had therapy which helped massively. If you're able to and have access to any please try it. X

Hi Doodledeedum, hope you dont mind me asking but were you prescribed low dose asprin at all?
Just wondering out of interest as I have been reading both positive and negative views x

Doodledeedum · 19/11/2023 22:16

@Longbarn5
Hi, no problem at all. Ask away

I took 75mg of aspirin from conception for 3rd pregnancy, ( the successful one!) I wasn't advised to by anybody but like you I read some positive stories/info ( especially here on Mumsnet) and I told my midwives and doctors - who said I was ok to continue - knowing nobody had advised to do so.
I took it till week 35 of the pregnancy

Thank you so much for the reply. I did wonder if you would say that. I think I will give that a go too. Not too sure whether to wait until my hoped for next conception or to start while trying to conceive. I have read in a couple of places that it may negatively affect implantation but the biggest study I have found indicated it as being useful from starting ttc so not certain what I will do. Definitely on my list though x

Doodledeedum · 19/11/2023 22:41

@Longbarn5 my personal reasons for waiting for conception was not to risk blood being too thin and implantation not working
I think I just deduced that from what I had read but if you find info on the contrary that may be a helpful route?
I just started as soon as I found out and I found out 10dpo

I also doubled my dose of folic acid

I took folic acid and magnesium PRE CONCEPTION

Magnesium was a first in the 3rd pregnancy too X

@Doodledeedum,
Thank you so much for this and, reading further, I see what you mean. I will likely do the same as you I think and thank you for the info re the magnesium too xx

Doodledeedum · 20/11/2023 21:46

@Longbarn5 you're welcome
Best of luck to you. It's a hard journey ❤️

I also remembered I took high dose of VIT d too x

Hi @LW678

Unfortunately, I dont have a success story yet but just wanted to reply to let you know that you are not alone in this and I am truly so sorry you had to go through this.

I read your story and honestly had to double check it wasnt myself who wrote this- We had a miscarriage in July at 5 weeks .. we then became pregnant again in August but suffered a missed miscarriage in October at 11 weeks but was onyl measuring 6w 6 d.

I just wanted to say I am feeling all the same emotions and fears that you are- absolutely terrified this is going to keep happening and we will never get our baby that we have spoken about for years.

Just wanted to check in to see how you are feeling?

Sending you all my love and positive vibes, nobody should have to go through this once but going through it twice is utterly devestating

LW678 · 29/11/2023 19:34

Thank you so much, your words mean so much. Every day is a struggle and constant worry to be honest. We’re going to try again in January and just keep everything crossed. When will you try again?

OP posts:
Lottie334 · 01/12/2023 14:47

@LW678 I can completely understand, I feel like every day all my thoughts are just consumed with wanting a baby and the fear of being pregnant again.

We actually havent planned to stop trying at all.. I'm not sure if that is the right thing to do but the only way I find I can cope is with the hope that we will get pregnant again soon and hopefully have a better outcome. I haven't ovulated since the miscarriage so hoping this will come back soon.

Have you had any of blood work done? My doctor did some blood work and I have a blood clotting condition- we are waiting for the pregnancy loss clinic to ring with an appointment but it is looking like it will be the new year.

LW678 · 01/12/2023 19:13

Thats completely understandable, that’s the only thing getting me through, thinking about becoming pregnant again. Funnily enough the hospital have told me to come back 6 weeks after the miscarriage in order for them to test my blood for the blood clotting disorder! If mine does come back positive then we could be twins 🤣

@LW678 Oh my god no way- I'm truly so sorry you are going through this but it is comforting to have someone going through something so similiar.

I really wish you the absolute best of luck with your testing and hope you get some answers as to why these awful things keep happening.

If you happen to remember, I would love to hear how you get on and my private messages are always open if you feel alone or would like to talk to someone going through something similiar.

LW678 · 04/12/2023 13:24

Thank you, I hope everything works out for you x
