Placenta after loss

This might be a stupid question but I had to deliver after a 14 week loss. The placenta was delivered in two parts. Does anyone know what this means? Is it because it was ripped from the wall,

I’m so sorry for your loss, I delivered my baby at 20 weeks last Thursday and it’s incredibly painful. My placenta was also not intact, speaking to the midwife since it’s because it’s very fragile at such an early gestation

Thank you for this. I hope you are doing as well as you can. I have a midwife friend who gave me some helpful contacts and if you ever need to talk to someone i'm here xx
