Blood loss after expectant miscarriage - what’s normal?

Hi all,

I experienced my first missed miscarriage this week and just seeking answers around recovery and next steps.

We saw baby with lovely heartbeat last Friday (20th) measuring 6wk4 and the day after the early scan, started bleeding. Put this down to the scan but slowly developed into heavier bleeding, a trip to A&E and EPU, declared baby had sadly stopped growing - must have been within 24hrs just after the scan, unreal.

I passed baby (sack, foetus) out at home Tuesday (24th) very quickly with cramping and heavy bleeding as expected but no need for further intervention confirmed by hospital. I had around 1cm of tissue remaining which they said to manage at home and do a pregnancy test in 3 weeks.

It’s only been 3 days but still very heavy bleeding and not sure what’s normal? Still minor cramping too but that’s ok.

Really keen to recover and start trying to conceive again so just really wanting this to hurry up so I can get my period back and crack on next month. Wondering what to do for speed though - wait and see what happens or go back to doctors for meds to hurry the bleeding up though most has gone so this must be my lining?

thanks

Sorry I should have added - I know to expect bleeding for a couple of weeks but this is very heavy (worse than I experienced on the actual day I miscarried) so just unsure.

The bleeding can range from as bad as giving birth bleeding to period bleeding off and on for a while or continuous
