Hi there,

Sadly we've ended in recurrent miscareiage clinic and will have our first appointment with Rami Atalla.

Do anyone have any experience with him? I'm so we won't get all the possible examinations and tests for the "first" round.

Thank you!

Hello, we have the same prob and have an appointment to see him. How did you get on?

Pinomnivore · 15/12/2023 11:05

Hey. We had to see him privately because we can't wait for the NHS list as I am pregnant again. :) He is really nice and gave me tons of medications which seems working, as I'm 9+5, the furthest I ever got! 🤞

Oh that’s amazing news! Congratulations. That’s so encouraging, I am going to pay privately to see him too then, I have had two missed miscarriages in a row, this time at 8 weeks:( I can’t bare to go through this one more time to qualify for NHS. That’s so brilliant that he has found a concoction of medications that are working for you. Hopefully he can do the same for us, otherwise my next move was going to be looking into ivf, even though we don’t struggle to conceive.
Thanks for sharing with me.

He’s the reason I have my two children. He’s absolutely amazing.

PT2013 · 15/12/2023 16:54

oh god, I’ll prepare myself! But like you say, it would be worth every penny if he can help us :) Thanks so much for responding.

PT2013 · 15/12/2023 16:55

Hi, sorry to resurrect an old thread. I'm considering seeing Mr Atalla for recurrent miscarriage. I just wondered if any of you had NK cells looked at by him? I found an old thread on Netmums that said he doesn't believe in them, but that was 2020 and research has come on so much since then. I'd be really grateful for your opinion.

I hope you're all doing well. @Pinomnivore @AnneLovesGilbert @PT2013

I also wondered if you had any insights into the sort of regime he might prescribe and of cost.

Thank you so much in advance, I really appreciate this is a very sensitive matter.

Pinomnivore · 06/01/2024 11:55

Hey!

I'm not sure if he is doing NK cells, because when we met him I was pregnant already, so we just did a quick blood test (I had problems with my thyroid so he wanted to check if it causing the miscarriages) and then he prescribed me everything :D if you book a private appointment as we did because of the surprise baby, he will prescribe you private prescription, and the cost depends what medication will you need. We eventually move to his NHS list, and since then they're free. I'm on Clexane twice a day (£110 monthly approx), Cyclogest twice a day (GP prescribed it according his notes-free) and was on Prednisolone because of my thyroid but I think it is used to treat NK cells also. I'm 13+3 today, baby is doing fine. :)

Thank you so much for your update, and I'm so pleased for you. Thank you, it's really helpful to hear if what treatment you had and costs.

Pinomnivore · 06/01/2024 16:02

I'm glad it's helpful :) I forgot to mention the examination costs, 2 private appointment+scan costed around £600
