Methotrexate and 3 months….

Anyone else in the 3 month wait to ttc after methotrexate for ectopic pregnancy?
I thought the 2ww was long, this one’s torture.
In three months I’ve got from actively trying to conceive, to becoming pregnant very quickly and being ecstatic, to finding out the pregnancy was ectopic and being heartbroken. I don’t want to wish the time away but roll on january…..

Kind of, but I didn't have an ectopic; I had a partial molar pregnancy. This means that I have to be monitored until my HCG returns to below 5, and then need to wait another 4 weeks to confirm it is still normal, before being cleared to TTC again. There is a very small (1%) chance with partial molar pregnancies that any remaining cells can turn cancerous and need treatment with methotrexate, which is why I have to wait.

I had my 12 week scan 9 weeks ago, and my D&C just under 8 weeks ago. I wish there was a pill you could take to speed up time ❤.

Hi, sorry to hear about your ectopic, it looks like we have a really similar timeline. I had an ectopic pregnancy (first pregnancy too) in our first month of trying, had methotrexate on 2nd Nov, I spoke to the delivery ward head nurse and she said that 1 month after is a no-go, two months+ they won't worry. Me and my partner are getting married in December so I asked if it would be dangerous to fall pregnant around the wedding, she said as long as I managed to get my folic acid right up again I should be fine.

I had the methotrexate yesterday :( I feel so down and low about everything that is going on. I know this happened to you a few months ago but has anyone got any success stories?

@vjones I know this was a few months ago but I’ve only just found it! I had methotrexate at the start of November too and my midwives told me getting pregnant within the first 3 months can be very very dangerous and to take a full month of folic acid before even trying! This is my first month TTC after my ectopic on my section scar!
