How long does it take for cycle to return after miscarriage?

I miscarried 44 days ago (19 Jan.) and still no period. I have been reading that it can take 5-7 weeks, but I'm just wondering how long it took for other people. And no, I'm not pregnant - 2 negative tests this week!

Sorry to hear about your miscarriage. I think it can vary hugely and that it an average of 5-7 weeks. I cant remember exactly but I know after my first miscarriage it took about 6 months before my cycle got back to normal but I think that was fairly unusual. Since then I have had another 3 miscarriages and it has usually been about 6 weeks and then straight back to a 28 day cycle. I know how frustrating it can be though waiting to get back to a normal cycle especially if you want to try again.

Thanks for your message, Springflower, and I'm sorry to hear you've had 3 miscarriages. Yes, we do want to try again, so it is incredibly frustrating, and each day seems to take forever!

I also had a miscarriage 6 weeks ago and still no period. Really frustrating!

I had a miscarriage in August, didn't have another period, but dd2 was born ten months later, so I guess that my cycle was back to normal about a month later.

Sorry to hear about your mc.

(wasn't last August, btw, she's four this year)

all of my mc's my cycle has returned back to normal straight away, I guess it depends on your body and the hormone levels...

This one im going through now I am still waiting to bleed

Finally got my period on the weekend - 8 weeks later! Although (sorry, tmi coming up) it's very light and brownish, which is not usual for me. Could be my body's still gearing up, or maybe (grasping at straws here) implantation bleed???

I had a d&c last Aug, my cycle returned to normal in Dec. Between those months I had cycles of 40 days and 65 days, then I went back to my normal 30/31 days.

Hi, I’m in a similar position. Had a MC had 2 regular-ish cycles since but now having a very long cycle, not ovulated and not pregnant. Very little cervical mucous (sorry TMI)! Just starting to also get worried that everything is now messed up and tired of waiting and worrying. How did things go with you guys? thanks x
