Positive pregnancy test

Hi

I had a miscarriage at 7weeks 5 days on 11th July. I bleed for a couple of weeks and then it stopped, I got my period on 1st august (my cycles are 25 days) but I didn’t come on today which I should have. I had an early clear blue test (not digital) that I did and it came up with positive almost straight away. I realise the sensitivity of these tests is 10hcg so it’s rather low threshold. It’s been 6 weeks since my miscarriage but I never did a follow up pregnancy test afterwards to check I’d returned to zero hcg!

For those who have experienced similar does this sound like it could be a new pregnancy or leftover hormones?

Hard to say! I miscarried at 12 weeks and had a positive test for 2 months after. I suppose you could take another one in a few days and see if the line is any darker? Or just head to gp for bloods? Good luck!

Thanks for the reply, did you get a period in that time, I’ve definitely had a normal period exactly 3 weeks after the miscarriage.

I was bleeding for the whole 2 months. The tests only turned negative a day before I stopped bleeding. If you’ve had a normal period then it could well be a new pregnancy. Apparently you’re really fertile in the cycle following a miscarriage!

Thank you. Sorry to hear you had such a rough time of it. My pregnancy ended in two major bleeds that I was hospitalised for and I had an internal scan and removal of left over tissue so I assume that’s why I only bleed for just under 2 weeks as I’d lost a hell of a lot of blood all in one go. I wish I’d have checked my hcg a while ago, I obviously am very happy if this is a new pregnancy but I’m filled with nerves and I didn’t expect to feel that way. I thought I’d handle it better.

This is my test. Not sure it makes a difference how dark the line is.
