MMC, medical management & travel

Hello.

Following a MMC that was discovered last week just days before my 12 week scan (baby died around 7w4d) I went into the EPU today to have my confirmation scan and to decide my next steps. I’ve been naturally miscarrying for 8 days and it’s been very slow.

We are due to go on holiday to Spain on Tuesday next week (currently Thursday) and after the most horrendous week we are desperate to go. I wanted to opt for surgery but they had no availability until Wednesday so I opted for medical management.

What are peoples thoughts about going so close after this procedure? Am I being ridiculous thinking it can happen? I’m due to take the remaining tablets Saturday morning and hope to pass the tissue over the weekend. We could potentially push the holiday back a few days or should I cut my losses and cancel? The nurse seemed confident I would be ok and suggested we speak to our travel operator and insurance to ensure we are covered which we will do. I’m also researching doctors and hospitals in the area we are staying.

I lost my mum just a few months ago and coupled with this, I’m in a really low place following this mmc and just feel time away with my husband is what we need.

I welcome anyone’s thoughts/advice/experiences.
Thank you xx
