Its my first pregnancy. I was sitting down on the sofa and I felt this gush of blood and I looked at my pantyliner and there was a bit of dark red blood like i was starting a period. I then put a pad on and after a couple of hours and I checked again there was a considerable amount of bright red blood not heavy though but looks like a period. I was getting cramping and back pain like a period. Iv been getting cramping everyday since I found out I was pregnant but felt bit worse today. I rang the 24/7maternity line and she said to let them know if I get £2 size clots and very heavy bleeding otherwise to manage this at home and to take a pregnancy test 2weeks later?? I am just so confused and scared I think my gut is telling me I am miscarrying but i have no idea and I can't help but keep crying. It's only been a few hours but I feel so lost and don't know what to do.

I'm sorry, that sounds horrible. Honestly, it could go either way. I was in a similar position and referred from 111 to an early pregnancy unit who gave me a scan. Perhaps try calling 111 or going to a walk in? The uncertainty is awful. I mentally prepared for the worst but in my case was a tear that had caused the bleed. I will keep my fingers crossed for you.

I would ring tomorrow and ask if you could go to the EPU.. I had similar OP and it wasn't the best outcome but EPU did see me to help me know what was going on from the beginning

update I went for a scan today (private) they said my womb lining was very thin and said I most likely miscarried. They said to do another test after a week and if its positive to do another scan to check for ectopic.
