Corpus luteum on scan 3 weeks after MVA - ovulation ?

Hello, I had an MVA at around 13 weeks pregnant due to a MMC I would have been 16 weeks pregnant now (3 weeks after MVA) I had an ultrasound yesterday and they could see the corpus luteum on my right ovary indicating I had ovulated, I hear that the corpus stays until the placenta takes over at around 12 weeks pregnant however if my baby didn’t reach 12 weeks could my corpus still be there from ovulation of the pregnancy around 14 weeks ago ? Or is this likely to be a new corpus meaning I have ovulated ? It’s all very complicated, I’m not sure if anyone will have and experience if this ? Thanks

I don’t know to be honest OP, but I completely understand the drive to get some information about what’s happening in your body during this uncertain time. I’m really sorry for your loss.

@Oxalis00 thank you for your reply, yes I think sometimes I want to be in control and know everything about what happening inside my body but I just can’t. Thank you ❤️

@worldwidetravel2017 thank you, yes I can’t seem to find much about it. What’s your situation was your scan post MC or are you currently pregnant ?

Neither ^

My scans were because i persumingly have pcos... ( and as abnormal ca125)

Maybe

But ovaries looked normal & within normal range..

But i have unwanted hair & heavy periods etc

I have iron deficiency anemia
Had polyps removed from my bowel in may

I had 2x positive qfit tests / poo tests ...

There is ( or was ?) A bleed in me - theyve been checking various

Then i had raised ca125 - which can also be an inflammation marker , - hence scans were then made urgent etc...

I have gp this week and might book a private gynacologist appt with hertility health to discuss corpus luteum & scan results/ small fibroid etc

Ahh I see, our body’s are so confusing!

good luck with your appointments and I wish you all the best for the future.

my period has arrived so the corpus seen at the ultrasound did mean ovulation had happend 3 weeks after MVA for anyone else that may read this.

Ace - clear blue are good

Lee444 · 17/07/2023 07:21

Yes I think they are are the best you can get. Only thing is there is still no guarantee it will work but we will try to cover all bases using the CB sticks and that’s all we can do. Really hope it’s worked for you this time not too long for you to wait now.

can you trust clear blue after an MVA or are the hormones raging too much? I miscarried last week, had surgery to remove (mva) I did test today and it’s showing I’m peak fertile.

You'll still have high levels of HCG in your system. I took a pregnancy test 12 days after my surgery and it had a very faint line but the ovulation test was showing positive. Have no other ovulation signs so it'll be HCG leftover. I'm keeping an eye on it so I can hopefully catch ovulation soon.
