Never ending period after miscarriage - Advice please!

Hi all,

I had a miscarriage back in mid May, I had the surgery to remove our baby then bled fairly lightly for a couple of weeks. I had a negative pregnancy test on the 8th June and my period started on the 19th.

My period lasted 4 days initially but since then it's been stop starting, a little bit of blood every day when I wipe. Never enough to wear a tampon. This has been going on for 10 days now, is this normal? We really want to get trying again but no idea where I'm at in my cycle and it's driving me mad!

Any advice please?

I am afraid I don't have any advice, just that I'm in the same boat. miscarried early may and got my period June 22, that finished on the 27th and had exactly what you describe - stop starting spotting and one gush of blood today!
Its so confusing isn't it! Does it look like your bleeding is reducing at all?
Im hoping it might just be a case of hormones and everything regulating and going back to normal as I know that the first period back is meant to be unpredictable.

Mine is only spotting when I wipe, still going though. It's driving me mad. I've been doing ovulation tests and finally got a positive one yesterday, so thats something! I was getting worried that something was wrong with me.

Hopefully yours gets back to normal soon, are you TTC?

Hi, again sorry no helpful advice but in a similar boat. Sorry for your loss. I am a month since medical management of a missed miscarriage at 8 weeks, and haven’t had a day without some bleeding (if at times only when I wipe). So not even sure if a period or still the miscarriage.
Just want to be back to a normal cycle!

Unfortunately I think it’s like everything with pregnancy and childbirth and beyond, everyone’s body is quite different. I think after the first period though you will be back in normal cycles v soon, maybe call GP or EPU to get some reassurance. hope it settles soon

I've had multiple miscarriages and I bled for weeks with all but the very early ones. I think it is normal but if you're at all concerned then contact a medical professional, especially if it smells bad.
And I'm so sorry for your loss.
