I had a confirmed miscarriage on 16th May, opted for medical management at home and was given one tablet to take orally at the hospital 18th May and 4 to insert vaginally on 20th. I used them about 9pm at night and felt bleeding start at 4am and went to the toilet and felt like I could feel everything falling out but didn't look.
Bleeding and pains have continued for 3 weeks, went to GP and seen nurse 1st June who said no infection and pregnancy test was negative but sent bloods off. 2nd GP rang and prescribed different painkillers and requested a face to face on 6th. Morning of the 6th i had a heavier bleed than id had before, probably would have rang hospital if hadn't of had GP appointment that afternoon. She said my HGC level was high but nurse said pregnancy test was negative but advised me to do the one at home on 8th as told by hospital. Done test on 8th and positive line come up straight away. Rang EPU who said they would bring me in for bloods on 8th and scan on 9th or 12th but rang back a little later and said to come in as soon as possible for scan and bloods.
Scan showed retained product so was given the option of further medical management at home and was given 3 more tablets to insert vaginally. I used these 11pm and went to bed. Woke up morning of 9th expecting heavy bleeding but there was only slightly more bleeding than in the previous 2 and a half weeks but less than morning of 6th. As the day went on the bleeding slowed to basically nothing but had cramps. Today I've only noticed a orange/ yellow snotty type discharge.
I know the 1st time the EPU said tablets can take between 6 and 72 hours to start working so unsure to wait 72 hours before ringing on Monday or if I should ring now over the weekend.
Any advice will be very appreciated. Thank you
