Think I had a very early miscarriage!

Hi everyone. My boyfriend and I have been trying to conceive. A few weeks ago, I was having some weird unusual bleeding. It was not my period. It started off more like a light spotting. It was light pink and looked like it was mixed with discharge (sorry if tmi). That bleeding went on for about a week. Towards the end of that week, the spotting got a little heavier and would sometimes fluctuate between light pink and brown. Then I was sitting in my room watching TV the one day and all of a sudden I look down and I see blood soaking through my pants. I was gushing all of a sudden. I immediately ran to the bathroom and started wiping. When I wiped, there was 1 long clot that came out and a bunch of smaller clots. I kept wiping until all the clots were gone and then I put a pad on and laid down. After that day, I went right back to the light spotting, but the weird part is that the spotting would come and go. That lasted for another week and then it was all over. I fear that this was another miscarriage (I've had one before about 4 years ago). I'm 33 years old, never had kids and want at least one so badly!!! With my first miscarriage, it had already started forming into a fetus, and in both cases I had no idea that I was even pregnant until the miscarriage happened. I'm like 99% positive that that's what this was, just wondering if anyone experienced the same thing with theirs?

Hi lovely, it does sound like it might have been a miscarriage but it is hard to say. HCG can stay in your body for a while after a miscarriage so if you'd taken a pregnancy test you may have been able confirm it. Both of my miscarriages I have managed to see the sac and placenta when I've passed it, it has been long and made up of different tissue colours and textures. Is that what the long clot looked like or was it more of a uniform colour and texture?

So my first miscarriage, I remember when everything was coming out, I passed the placenta and everything.... And like I saw the lil guy, he looked like a little jelly bean. :( He was just starting to sprout arms and legs, I saw where they were forming... :'( I cried for weeks.... this time, it wasn't like that... That's why I think I miscarried a little earlier, maybe a chemical pregnancy? It started off the same as it did last time, I had the light pink spotting which got heavier towards the end and then I started clotting (and the first time that was confirmed, I went to the doctor). This time however, I didn't see anything but a lot of blood and clotting, which the first big one that came out was long and did have like a weird texture to it... The clotting and bleeding lasted about an hour or two and then it died down. The next day I was just spotting again, with a mix of discharge. And it was on again, off again for a week. And then back to normal.

Not sure where to post but hopefully I can get some advice here

Had 3 positive pregnancy tests over the last two weeks
Went for a scan today and no foetus found
but they did find two cysts on my ovaries 😞
Blood taken to try and find out what’s going on

The hospital phoned a few hours ago to say my HCG level was 20 which indicates a miscarriage or a very very early pregnancy

Has anyone experienced this
Have a follow up bloods appointment a week today to see if my HCG level has changed

@131104E Without knowing your dates exactly, a single HCG number can't really tell you much and it really does depend on the comparison between the two draws. A HCG of 20 is low, but as you were advised, it could just mean that you are super early. You definitely wouldn't see much on an ultrasound with a number that low so please don't worry about that. My HCG at 10 days post transfer of an 5 day old embryo (equivalent to 15dpo) was 26 which I was told was low at the time. Unfortunately, although my HCG continued to rise, I had a blighted ovum and the embryo never developed. I have read stories where low HCG did work out however so although I would be wary, I wouldn't throw in the towel just yet. The waiting to find out more is incredibly stressful and I'm so sorry you're going through this. Make sure you look after yourself and try to keep as busy as you can between now and your next blood draw. Sending love x

@xXxLauren89xXx I am so sorry, I can only imagine how upsetting that must have been to see your little one. My first was a blighted ovum so I knew I wouldn't see anything and my second one was only measuring 6 weeks so I don't think I would have been able to see them as they were so tiny. :( x

I need advice and help.I found out recently that I’m 5 weeks pregnant.I took 3 pregnancy tests and all of them came out positive.(I also struggle with PCOS ovarian cyst syndrome.I have struggled with this since I was 17-18 and I’m currently 22 right now.) Almost everyone in my family has had mutiple miscarriages.Everyone of my aunts on my Dads side of the family has PCOS as well.I guess that’s where I got passed down the same heath issue. Ever since I been pregnant I been having bad pains in my lower back,ovaries,my kidneys,stomach/ovaries and below my ribcage.I been severely depressed.I’ve been having headaches,I have been dizzy and always fatigued no matter how much I sleep.I been dehydrated as well.I feel like I’m in constant pain all the time but no bleeding.I was told I can’t be seen by a doctor until I’m at least 8-9 weeks but I don’t think I can wait that long.But I can’t afford to pay a big Emergency room hospital bill.I’m worried.Please someone help me.Is it possible I’m in the early stages of miscarrying?

@Anon544318
It sounds like you may have a UTI so you need to see a doctor. Can you not make an appointment to see your GP?

Anon544318 · 04/07/2023 05:38

I don’t have a GP currently right now

@Anon544318
Then I’m not sure what you expect people to advise. You need to be seen by a healthcare professional.
