Booking with Dr Raj Rai

Hi all,

I unfortunately recently had a miscarriage and so decided to privately go and see a gynaecologist to have a check in hopes that I can get some answers (I know that it is likely that no one will be able to give me a definitive answer). I have been trying to book an appointment with Dr Raj Rai but haven’t been able to get to someone who can at least tell me the expected waiting times. I reached someone last week who said that the team will get in touch, but they haven’t.

For those who were able to get an appointment, who did you contact and what are the usual waiting times please? I could go see another gynaecologist but was keen on Raj Rai. If the waiting times are 6-12 weeks though then I am probably better off going elsewhere for now.

Any thoughts from experience would be really helpful. Thank you.

This is a long time since your post but did you ever get hold of anyone to make an appointment? We saw Raj Rai back in 2015 and he helped us have our precious daughter after recurrent miscarriage. He's wonderful.

I somehow missed your message, thank you for responding. Tbh I had such a terrible experience with him thus far: after several appointments and him telling me a diagnosis, I received no formal letter and nothing confirming the diagnosis or what I should do now. I kept writing and calling to follow up and ask for it only to be told that it is coming and now no one is responding to me anymore. I asked because my GP doesn’t believe the diagnosis and wants everything in writing which is correct. But now I am just being ghosted, which you can imagine is adding so much to my anxiety. So after 4 months of begging for just one letter (I didn’t chase for anything other than just a letter), I think I will have to move on to someone else who could help me. Time is not my side. Overall, not a great experience.

Hi! Did you manage to get a letter with diagnosis from Mr Raj Rai? I’m now experiencing the same situation, waiting for officially confirmed diagnosis, but no luck so far… thanks in advance!

Ginger84 · 04/02/2024 21:20

Hi @Marinasini7 sorry to hear that you are experiencing the same thing. I am sorry to report that I got nowhere in this regard and after many emails and phone calls chasing, I simply gave up and moved on. For weeks being ghosted in this way added to my anxiety and sadness, especially as I was experiencing three miscarriages. Now I decided to simply drop it, took my diagnosis and will go elsewhere if I ever get pregnant again.

Interesting, I also had the same experience in chasing for my letter with diagnosis. I was emailing every other day at one point to both him and his secretary!

we had such a promising start but that bit feels like I’m worried now in case I do get pregnant again because he told me to go to him as soon as I get a positive test to start treatment.

Hi everyone. Out of interest did any of you ever hear back or get a reason to why it took so long/ghosted? I’ve had such a wonderful experience so far but then haven’t been able to get hold of him and his pa never picks up and hasn’t responded. Its meant I’ve missed the window for treatment and puts us back at least several months.

Hi - I’m now experiencing no/very delayed response, is anyone else still experiencing this?

Pistachiochiochio · 29/08/2024 21:25

I made an appointment with him but his secretary didn't tell the reception. When we arrived for our 7pm appointment they went to check - he was with one client "and there's another waiting but you'll be next". We didn't want to wait.

Next day his secretary was unapologetic.

I was glad we'd had that experience before paying the consultation fee and for any tests

Hi ladies, just experiencing my third miscarriage and considering making an appointment with Dr Rai. Really difficult to make the right choice because our funds are quite meagre but I am now at the point where I am just distraught. Anyone try anyone else they might also recommend?

katharine1403 · 07/05/2025 18:25

@Objectiontime did you go with him in the end?

@Objectiontime did you go with him in the end?

@katharine1403 I didnt actually but only because i suspected i had an immune issue and Dr Raj is more into blood clotting issues I believe. I was right in that I have been diagnosed with some immune issues but I do hear very positive things about him x
