First menstrual cycle after loss

Hi all,

I had a MMC at around the 12wk mark in mid-April. Bled for a week and got my negative pregnancy test within 3 weeks. AF came along just over a month after the loss which was a relief (though poignant) and is now drawing to a close.

I know this can vary a lot from person to person but I was just curious to hear people's experiences of ovulating after their first period? Did you feel like your cycles got back to their normal pattern straight away or was their a bit of settling time with weird cycles etc? Thank you!

Hi there. So sorry for your loss. I've always found that first period the hardest. I had a MC at 5+2 on 1st November and did not ovulate in the next cycle (29th November). However, I did ovulate the next cycle in December. I got pregnant again in my February cycle. Unfortunately I MC at 6+2 in early April but I did ovulate late April. I think it just depends on each person and how quicklythe HCG leaves your body. My cycle returned to normal 28 days after the 1st MC but was at 32 days after second. Your body will ovulate again when it is ready.

ive had a early MC at 5+3 and I ovulated within 2 weeks after bleeding began and no period as I got pregnant again.

unfortunately recently lost that baby to what I found out was turners syndrome at 14 weeks and bled for about 11 days and then ovulated a couple days after so again within 2 weeks of delivering my baby.

AF came Sunday 31 days after delivering her (back to normal cycle length for me) and it is already coming to an end which is not particularly normal for me (normally 4/5 days). I’m not too worried though as I did bleed a lot following the MC and assume my lining didn’t have time to build up hence why I didn’t conceive.

Id say my cycles are still normal though in length and ovulation dates so that’s good for me as it’s easy to track my fertile dates for TTC.

we miscarried at 16 weeks on the 9th of April and I ended up needing ERCP 10 days later, had a period two weeks later and did ovulation tests post period and ovulate two days ago. Not actively trying just paranoid I wouldn’t ovulate because I’m very irrational at the moment! Hope this helps xx
