Misoprostol taking ages

Stories needed!

I’m on day 5 of medical management and I’m 2 days after my second dose of Misoprostol. I had contractions and bleeding with the second dose but it has all died down! Has this happened to anyone else? I don’t want a D&C!

im still bleeding a little but only mild cramps..

please tell me I still have hope xx

How did you get on? I had 2 doses of it and not even a tinge of blood, just never worked for me and I ended up getting a d&c. The d&c was grand, no pain, minimal bleeding after and if i had known I would have opted straight for that. Hope all has went OK for you and you're doing OK. So sorry for your loss

Hey thanks so much for your message. Glad things worked out for you. I’m now on day 10 of the process and all I had was a couple of hours of contractions after the misoprostol and some light bleeding which has continued every day since. No clots or tissue passed. I had a scan on day 7 showing some changes but they think I still have some products retained. I’m getting a private second opinion today. When was your D&C and what happened after? Are you now trying again? x

Sorry it isn't working for you, I bet you just want it all over now, in my opinion if I was you I would just go now for the D&C and get over this stage so you can start to emotionally heal and physically get back to yourself.

I had D&C on 6th December, i was so scared, shaking with fear and i really needn't have been, it was very plain sailing, no pain after at all and minimal bleeding for around 2 weeks. I did have a rough 6 weeks emotionally which i hope to never repeat.

I got my first period after around 10th Jan I think, tried for baby in Jan and no luck, had second period 6th February and fell pregnant that month and I am now 13w+2, have my 12 weeks scan tomorrow fingers crossed all ok.

I was keen to avoid d&c even though everthing i read from people told me to go straight for it, i was so hesitant, worried about complications etc i dont think i was in my right mind, my doctor was the one told me to go with it in end and i am glad i did.
