11 week miscarriage

Today I've had a miscarriage at 11w 3d, following a scan 2 days ago confirming there was no heartbeat. This was my first pregnancy. They said baby was an abnormal shape for how far along I am, which has definitely helped because it obviously just wasn't meant to be..
The actual miscarriage was traumatic, but I also felt it was helpful to see it. How long have people waited until trying again? I feel like I'll feel completely different next time now.

@Firsttimemumtobee lots of hugs to you. So sorry for your loss. I don't think there is any wrong or right in terms of when to try again. I only miscarried 2 weeks ago myself and in the first week I couldn't imagine feeling ready soon but already now I'm feeling like I don't want to leave it too long. I've done a lot of processing and grieving over the last 14 days but the bottom line is that I still want a baby and I miss being pregnant. I'm also 37 so time isn't on my side anyway. I do have a 2yr old son and I really want to give him a sibling. Of course, part of being ready to try again is confronting the possibility of another loss .. a future pregnancy will certainly be filled with anxieties but... A pragmatic part of me knows that is unlikely to change however long I leave it. In fact I almost feel more braced for it now if that makes sense? I don't quite know but I think we will be trying again within a cycle or two. I'm also on a couple of 'pregnancy after loss' type threads and that has been helpful and reassuring.

Wishing you all the best going forwards and hope you are doing ok. 💕

I'm so sorry, I just wanted you to know as I also had a miscarriage at 11 weeks as well. I just wanted you to know you are not alone. The nurse on epu told me you can start trying again whenever usually after a natural miscarriage, so I think it's a very personal decision. Take care

@Firsttimemumtobee I’m so sorry for your lost. I miscarried for the first time last month 24/03. I was 5w+6days. I bled for 5 days some clots the first day but the last 4 days were just like period bleeding. I ovulated 15 days after my miscarriage and then my first period came exactly 29 days after I miscarried. We would have tried again before my first period came but my partner works away.
Currently on CD8 waiting to see when I ovulate to hopefully start trying again this month. I hope that’s enough info for you. Everyone is different with their cycle lengths etc I was pretty lucky mine went back to normal pretty much straight away.
Sending you loads of love 💖

@SnookyPook
Thank you so much for your kind wishes, I'm so sorry for your loss too ❤️ yes I totally agree with you, we're thinking we're going to try again straight away as well. Yes, I'm sure we will be very anxious next time now, but I've read so much how people go on to have a healthy baby afterwards. I will have a look for some pregnancy after loss threads too, thank you.

@Letterbox22 thank you, so sorry for your loss as well ❤️

@Rainbowdust1993 that's really helpful to know, thank you ☺️ hopefully will go back to normal straight away then! I'm sorry for your loss and send you lots of love too! 💕

@Summer2424 that's lovely to hear, thank you ☺️❤️

Hi, I’m so sorry for your loss 💐I had a miscarriage that started this week at 10 weeks gestation. I had a natural miscarriage at home before I could have a scan. The Dr advised me afterwards to do a pregnancy test in 3 weeks and if it’s negative to wait for my period then we can start trying again. I feel completely differently about it all now too. I’m obviously a lot more anxious about being pregnant again. I carried twins for my first pregnancy with no issues so naively thought there was nothing my body couldn’t handle; but then I miscarried this single baby at only 10 weeks. I look back and think how carefree and breezy I was in my first pregnancy and know I won’t feel that way again.

Sending you lots of love, I’m sure when you have your future baby it will help heal some of the hurt from this one and the vast majority of women do go on to have healthy pregnancies. Be kind to yourself and take things at your pace xxx

@Problematicpotato
I'm really sorry for your loss too ❤️ we've decided we'll definitely start trying straight away, I was told we could start trying as soon as we like once miscarriage had passed, although if it happened you wouldn't be sure on dates.. but I've ordered some ovulation tests to give a better idea.
Sending lots of love and luck x
