Headaches after miscarriage

Hi,
I am looking for some advice.
I went for my 12 week scan on Friday last week and was told there was no heartbeat and my baby stopped growing at 8 weeks pregnant. I had my miscarriage on Saturday where I passed 3/4 of my pregnancy and the foetus.
I did pass a lot of blood and blood clots and I went lightheaded but felt fine that night.
On Monday night, I had to go to A&E as when I went to the toilet and noticed what looked like a huge clot that was stuck and wouldn’t pass regardless what I tried. Therefore, I went to A&E where they removed this for me. It turned out to be the remaining tissue of the pregnancy but the doctor did say that all the pregnancy tissue had been removed and there was nothing left.
I did bleed for a few days after but have recently stopped bleeding now.
However, since Tuesday morning I have woken up with severe headaches to the point they feel like migraines.

Is this normal after a miscarriage to experience headaches? I have read on other chats on this website that it can be to do with changes in hormones post miscarriage.

Hi @lchandlerxx I had an MVA on Tuesday, I should have been 10 weeks but found out at that scan the heartbeat had stopped at about 9 weeks. Yesterday I had a really bad headache, nothing shifted it whatsoever, it’s better today and I think it must be all the changes and hormones changing in our body so quickly.

Sending love and I hope the headache goes soon for you aswell x

Hi

So sorry to hear about your loss. I also found out about my miscarriage at 12 week scan at the end of March, I was 12+6 but baby was only measuring 8.5 weeks

I had piercing headaches every day for about 4/5 days starting about 4 days after my medical management. I also read it can be the change in hormones but not 100% sure

Hope you are feeling better soon xx
