Chemical Pregnancy experience

Hello everyone, first I apologise for the long read but I sharing my experience here to see if anyone can relate to it as I am so confused. I believe I had a CP last month but didn’t test, only going by symptoms. I had sex on day 9 and day 14 of my cycle, usually my cycles average 27 or 28 days. on day 26 of my cycle early in the morning I experienced what felt like acute period pain, I was so sad because i thought my period was coming I cried for a while but then decided to let it be, however nothing else happened the rest of the day until the following day when I started to have weird intermittent cramps, I didn’t know if they felt like gas, or number one or number two all I could think of was this was so different from period pain I assumed it was implantation pain, started looking out for any spotting and sure enough later in the day a pinkish brown tint started appearing on my tissue. On a regular cycle I spot the day before but without cramps and something like dark brown dried blood, when I feel period cramps, bleeding has already started or it starts shortly after but always on the same day and period cramps are continuous and painful. I didn’t test early because I didn’t want the disappointment of a negative result, I was fine the whole of day 27 actually very excited as I felt the signs were telling me I was pregnant however in the night the pain turned so strong I was alone and I wanted to take pain relief but I was scared to do this, it was a horrible night. By early morning the cramps had calmed down but I had red mucus, I decided this was the time to test but it was a weekend day and so early that pharmacies were closed so I had to return home and wait but within the hour I was bleeding with cloths. It was not a bleeding that was heavier than normal, it even felt shorter but I had dark brown residue still showing on my underwear and tissue for about a week which is very long. Every post I read says CP happen around week 5 and that your period is a few days late but for me this was the end of week 4 I actually got my period on day 27 so not late at all. I’d like to think I know my body but without a test I think I will never know
After my last period for the first time I paid attention to my body and noticed ovulation pain on my left ovary that started on day 12 of my cycle and lasted 48 hours ending on day 14 of my cycle, I also had egg white discharge on day 13 and my partner and I had sex on that day and the following day, I haven’t got a clue if anything is happening in my body, again don’t wat to test until period day to avoid disappointment but I am terrified now, I don’t know if I want to feel implantation cramps or see spotting in case it goes like last month. If based on your experiences you can tell me what you think I went through that would be of so much help. By the way I am 42 already so concerned about my ability to get pregnant the older I get

Hi

Do you test for ovulation or just use the apps that predict it based on your cycle length?

Adrianat24 · 05/05/2023 21:50

Hi there, no I didnt test because I was waiting for my period to be late first, I didnt want to see a negative result in case I was not pregnant but all the symptoms were unusual. This month I had intercourse on day 11 of my cycle so here I am again trying to survive another tww, fingers crossed it is 3rd time lucky for me

that isnt a chemical pregnancy

Nimbostratus100 · 05/05/2023 22:01

a chemical pregnancy is when a conception happens but no pregnancy results, and well under half of all conceptions result in pregnancy, so a chemical pregnancy is just when you find out you might have conceived, but then you dont get pregnant.

conceiving without a pregnancy resulting is a universal experience, but has only recently started being tracked and recorded, it is a bit pointless really, I dont know why people put themselves through it

But that is not what you had.

You are very much pregnant when you have a chemical. It's classed as a chemical if you lose it before 6 weeks.

Sounds like you had a bit of spotting in the run up to your period? Which can be normal.

I had a CP last year, my period was a few days late so I took a test and it was positive. 2 days later I started bleeding, if I hadn't taken the test I would have just assumed it was my period.

I completely understand not wanting to test too early and I was the same, but in the end it ended up better to test and know than constantly assume I was pregnant when I wasn't.

This happened to me on the last day of the 4th week, a couple of days before my period was due, I was waiting for my period day to test as I didnt want to test too early and get a negative, so in truth I will never know but while on this subject I have another question, I had intercourse on day 11 of my current cycle and bled profusely straight after, in certain positions I tend to experience pain but the bleeding was a first, after a lot of reading it sounds like a cervix injury, does the sperm get flushed out with the blood or can I still conceive? On this day I had ovulation pain and EWCM but I’m worried about the bleeding

I meant have you been tracking and testing for your ovulation or just using apps that estimate it based on your period whilst TTC?

Adrianat24 · 06/05/2023 21:23

at the moment I am only going by what my body tells me, I track my periods which are always mostly 27 day long and during my fertile window I keep track of changes in my mucus and also look for ovulation pain. But no temperature or ovulation strips yet, this is only the third cycle I try to time sex with pregnancy but if nothing in the next three months I will see a doctor and find out what my fertility levels are like

I'm 40. Last August I had a CP. I felt like I had pregnancy symptoms, cramps and pulling when I wouldn't have them normally, did a test at 11dpo and had a really faint positive. Tested again the day my period was due and the test was blank and the next day I had a period which wasn't any heavier than normal but I had painful cramps (which, very luckily, I don't normally have).

In March this year I had very similar symptoms, again a really faint test at 12dpo but decided to not get excited just in case. By the day of my missed period I was expereince lots of nausea so tested and what would be 15dpo and got a blazing positive.

Mind you, with my first child I had no idea I was pregnant until about 8 weeks, not symptoms or anything and not paying attention to my periods at that point because they used to be really irregular.

I think generally, as much as every woman is different, every pregnancy is different as well.
