Miscarriage while on cyclogest?

Hi
I’ve been taking progesterone pessaries
due to bleeding in this pregnancy l and recurrent mc including the cycle immediately before this.
The scan wasn’t too reassuring last time at around 7 weeks (low hb, smaller, other markers of it not being too great)
I started the progesterone anyway to see what happened and it’s been about ten days of them now
I have woken up today not feeling pregnant at all again and with some (little) bleeding

I thought it was not unlikely I may end up with a mmc if on progesterone and they’d tell me at the next scan which I’m dreading

Has anyone had an experience of a complete or other miscarriage happening anyway despite the pessaries?

Unfortunately yes.

High dose folic acid, aspirin, pessaries and clexane injections.
They figured the miscarriage was due to chromosomal issues not compatible with a healthy baby. “Poor Egg quality” is the actual description.

To say I was devastated is an understatement. I had pinned so much hope on this combination.

Anyway, there was nothing anyone could do.

I declined this treatment going forward for further pregnancies for very specific reasons.

Good luck OP, it is awful to go through.

Thanks for your reply
very sorry to hear what you went through

having lots of pain too like previous mc but I can’t go back to the EPU as they’re shut this week I think (unless via A&E which this doesn’t seem to warrant) guess I’ll have to see what happens
Perhaps if I hadn’t have started the progesterone it would’ve been a mc before now, I had high hopes it would prevent it as my symptoms came back with a vengeance but the scan wasn’t looking too good last time. Feels like it’s gone on for ages as I was pregnant immediately after a miscarriage before.
thanks

Unfortunately it was as suspected
miscarriage hasn’t started though despite stopping the progesterone now after a scan confirmed it stopped growing and lost hb about ten days ago
does it take longer if I’ve been on cyclogest or will it be quite quick possibly now I’ve stopped the pessaries? If anyone knows
I’m keen to avoid surgical management and that department don’t like to do medical so I’m stuck with either waiting or surgical
thanks
