Bad PMS after miscarriage - any tips

I’m not sure if I should post this in here or in the women’s health section. I had a miscarriage in December. My PMS hasn’t been great in my thirties (now 35) but I’ve recently noticed that it’s really bad since my miscarriage. This happens for about 5-6 days after day 20 in my cycle. I’m trying to ensure I eat okay, stay fit, I’ve stopped drinking alcohol, started taking a superfood powder to help PMS, I see an accupuncturist etc but the change in mood is like entering a depression for these days. I cry a lot, don’t want to see anyone, and feel really low. I’m tempted to book a GP appointment but not sure how helpful they will be, I obviously can’t go on the pill and don’t really want anti depressants if I can avoid it. I just wondered if anyone else had found their PMS got worse after miscarriages and whether this then improved or you have found ways to help it?

Please see your GP

You should speak to your GP - when I had late onset post partum anxiety and depression (it kicked in when I stopped breastfeeding due to hormonal shifts) I was nervous to go to GP because I didn't want medication. They were super helpful and referred me for cognitive behavioural therapy which helped me a lot. Your GP might be able to help you in more ways than you are assuming.
I'm sorry for your loss and that you've been experiencing this, it sounds really tough. I had a mc 4 weeks ago and haven't had a period yet so can't compare direct experiences.
