Recurrent Miscarriage Clinic/Specialists

Hi ladies, does anyone have any experience with recurrent miscarriage clinics either via the NHS or by seeing a private consultant?

I've been looking at both options following on from my 3rd miscarriage and it seems there can be quite a wait to be seen by the NHS. If relevant, how long did it take for you to be seen if you went via NHS? And if you went privately, was it a quick process?

Any recommendations for London drs/clinics would also be much appreciated. I’ve heard a lot of good things about Dr Raj. Thanks!

Hi @Hal321 I was referred to the recurrent miscarriage clinic at St Helier/Epsom NHS hospital trust last year after my third miscarriage. It's the trust I've been under antenatal. It took about 2-3 months from referral to initial appointment.

Hiya, we've just been referred to the same clinic along with genetic testing on the products of conception when I pass them. What tests did they do at the clinic?

Hey, I am sorry you are having to go through this. I hope you find some answers and get the outcome you are searching for.

I had lots of blood tests done (46 checks I think they did!). Everything came back normal except my NK cell count which was high. The clinic have been great in my experience, the midwives have been supportive and the consultant was happy to answer all my questions.

We are still waiting for the last genetic testing results on the most recent miscarriage - 13 weeks and counting! The last results found a chromosome abnormality.

Happy to answer any questions you have!

Good luck

Thank you so much for getting back to me. It is an awful situation but it is comforting to know that the clinic have been so great and it sounds like they are also really thorough. I'll send you a PM soon as I'm sure I'll have more questions. Thank you again.

So sorry for your losses. I also had 3 miscarriages before having my DS . I was under Tommy's - they were great . I kept calling you for cancellations, which they often get as people fall pregnant and was seen pretty quickly.

Have you looked into progesterone?

Hey, just wondering how long the waiting list was for you at Tommy's? I'm currently being referred and wondering to go private if we are waiting for months. Thank you 🙏🏼

Hey , I was seen really quite quickly. I must have had my first appt about five weeks after my second loss - but I kept calling for cancellations .
