Positive Medical Management Experience

I just wanted to share my positive medical management experience (as positive as it can be, given the situation!) as there are lots of horror stories.

I went to the EPU as I was experiencing very light bleeding/spotting every day for a few weeks. Then it was confirmed at 9 weeks that I will miscarry. I decided to wait a few days to see if I would miscarry naturally, but as there was no sign I decided to go for medical management.

I went into the EPU to get the first dose on the Tuesday. My bleeding increased on Wednesday, and I actually passed a clot just before I had the second dose on Thursday. I went to the EPU for both as it was reassuring to discuss any concerns or questions I had before going ahead with each tablet. The miscarriage then came on very quickly, potentially because it had already started. I then passed clots for 5 hours, had quite strong contraction like pains for a few hours then everything settled! I did take paracetamol to help with the pain, but it didn’t seem to do much. I also had a heat pad on my back as it was hurting, but I do suffer back pain during my period. I passed a few more clots the next day, but they were pretty small and I wasn’t experiencing any pain. I was very tired and drained for the next day or 2, so took it easy. But all in all I was feeling good enough to go out by the Sunday. The bleeding only lasted for about 5 days then I was lightly spotting and completely stopped after 2 weeks.

I hope that helps some of you. There don’t seem to be many positive experiences posted on here but I think that’s because people are more likely to post about it when it’s gone wrong.
