Hi

I unfortunately had a miscarriage about 4 weeks ago but had the miscarriage all confirmed last week

4 weeks ago the bleeding started and I continued to bleed for about a week with severe cramping for the first couple of days the bleeding then stopped and I haven’t had any bleeding since

however about 4 days ago I started spotting and having a weird (not necessarily awful just weird) smell down there, and I am still spotting with this weird smell even now, my period is due to come on around now anyway so I don’t know if that has anything to do with it, not sure whether to cal lathe dr or if this is normal, any ideas would be appreciated!

thanks

So sorry to hear that!. Must be a very hard time for you.
Sometimes, they have to perform a d&C. To make sure all the tissue is removed completely, especially if you are having abnormal bleeding x

So sorry for your loss Flowers

Yes, please see your GP as it sounds like a retained product.

I lost my 1st pregnancy at 12 weeks and bleed for 2mths. I didn't realise this wasn't normal. I didn't have pain or any smell but If I'd known sooner- I would have seen the GP much sooner- because with my next period- I passed a product of conception.

I've since read far more about it and apparently the uterus will try to expel any product- even if it take a month or 2. Esp as you have a bad smell -please get this checked asap. x

Sorry to hear of your loss. I had one in January and had retained tissue so continued bleeding for some time, until it was all complete. One thing they asked when I went back for my checkup was if I had noticed any different smells to usual, if so it can sometimes be a sign of infection or retained tissue so I would get booked in for a check up to be sure. So sorry again for your loss xx
