I should be 7 weeks and 4 days pregnant today. We had a private scan 4 days ago- we saw the sac, the yolk, a heartbeat.. we saw everything. Everything looked good, and baby was measuring bang on for dates.
Fast forward to Friday morning (less than 48 hours later) I had a small amount of pink discharge and some minor cramps so for my own peace of mind I booked a private scan the following day. They couldn't find a heart beat and I was told the sac had started to cave in on itself, baby was measuring 5 weeks. (Gone from 8.2mm to 3mm in a matter of days)
How is this possible? How has it shrunk that much in such little time? I'm so unbelievably heartbroken and I suppose a little in denial. Is it possible I was pregnant with twins and the scan yesterday found the one who stopped growing? I just can't get my head around how it all went wrong in 2 and a half days and the measurements are sooo different.
I've been waiting for EPU to call me but apparently they aren't open at weekends. I have no answers. Today is Mother's Day and I've been a complete wreck. I can't believe this is happening. I have no miscarriage symptoms- I'm not bleeding or cramping, I still feel sick to my stomach. This is utter hell
