Bleeding after TFMR

Hi everyone,

I am not sure if anyone can help me but I am driving myself crazy so thought I would ask.

We lost our baby boy 2 weeks ago today (3/3) at 23wk 5days. We chose to have a D&C as I just couldn't go through the birth. The pain of losing him was already too much.

I stopped bleeding last Thursday (9/3). However, started bleeding again on Wednesday (15/3). I rang the aftercare line and they said as long as I am not in pain and no temperature etc then it shouldn't be anything to worry about. But has anyone had this before?

I have been testing everyday since last Friday and my levels are going down, I only have a very faint positive atm.

Its so frustrating because we're desperate to start trying again but I just have no idea what's going on with my body.

Thanks so much x

@KG2306 I'm so sorry for your loss.

We lost our baby boy due to a late missed miscarriage at 19+5 over Christmas. I went through with induced labour but had to have an emergency D&C after the birth due to blood loss and retained placenta.

I ended up bleeding for around 6 weeks on an off before eventually getting my first period. I definitely had further retained products of conception as I passed tissue on three occasions and ended up on further antibiotics after speaking with my GP about it. Like you, when I called about the bleeding they weren't overly concerned, only if there are signs of infection.

Since then my cycles haven't been quite back to normal...I have previously been irregular but I have since had spotting all the way through to ovulation and then again right before my period. My hormone levels aren't quite as they were pre-pregnancy. We were advised to wait 3 cycles to allow everything to return to normal again. Might be worth having your bloods checked as this would allow you to supplement with anything needed for a future pregnancy in the mean time.

Wishing you all the best with TTC. ❤

Thank you so much for replying, I am so sorry for your loss also 😔

I think I am passing tissue but only small pieces, so I'll see if I can book an app with my GP to discuss this. I will also ask about bloods as well - that's a really good idea.

Wishing you lots of luck TTC ❤️
