Bleeding for one day after taking Misoprostol

Hi everyone, I took both doses of Misoprostol yesterday at about 9am(for a missed miscarriage at 8weeks 5 days) second does at about 1pm I didn’t bleed until about 4pm, the bleed was not heavy at all only when I sat on the toilet there was a bit of blood, I passed something in the toilet but unfortunately didn’t get to see what, when I looked down it looked dark but the colour of the toilet water made it hard to see it, I was in a fair bit of pain but didn’t take pain killers, as weird as it sounds I wanted to feel the pain, I felt it’s the least I could do for my baby, at around 8 I had a shower and haven’t bled since, no pain after about 10:30pm. the bleeding now is just like the bleeding you get at the end of a period, the brown discharge type bleed but only when I wipe if I go to the toilet, very very light cramps this morning hardly noticeable. does this mean my miscarriage is over or is this normal and more bleeding and pain will come soon? I was just expecting so much more bleeding and pain so I’m very confused. I also miscarried at 7 weeks in December which was a natural miscarriage and I bled for about a week. Thanks xx

Hi OP. Sorry you’re going through this. When I had a medical management I had some bleeding and then 5 days later the main part of the miscarriage came out. I was 12 weeks at the time. I don’t know if this is normal for other women but thought I would mention it’s a possibility. For me the cramps start to get worse and that’s when I know more bleeding and passing of tissue etc is to come. Wishing you all the best.

@Odile13 hey thanks for the reply, did your bleeding turn brown or did it just stop? I work in a pre school so hoping it’ll be ok and not too painful as I need to go to work can’t afford not to! Thank you so much, you too🤍

@S47 I’m sorry I can’t remember. I hope it’s not too bad for you. It is horrible having to work and go through a miscarriage 💐

My medical management was pretty bad. Passed a lot of tissue and blood in the toilet on numerous occasions, then bad cramps and continued bleeding for the day and a few days afterwards. I definitely wasn't in a fit state to work. After going through all that mine actually failed and I hadn't miscarried the pregnancy sac so I had to have a D&C. As I had such a rubbish experience I would never recommend medical management but I appreciate I'm one for the rarities of it failing.
