Need some advice - bleeding yesterday, scan still ok at around 10 weeks, but two m/c before

Hello all you mums out there,

Am going slightly mad. Two m/c, one more traumatic at 16 weeks (baby dead at 11). D&C as too much blood loss. Second D&C ok-ish.

My mum died three weeks ago - weren't close but still ...

NOW 10 weeks, started bleeding yesterday, scan still ok, but it was the same with the first - bleeding had stopped but baby died same week. Didn't realise until four weeks later.

Have given up stressful job/career second time in a year and now unable to hope for anything good. If it goes wrong cannot imagine going back to job - part is advising teenage mums and maternity rights.

Generally expecting the inevitable. Next scan in 15 days. Hubby tries to concentrate on his job, but also scared.

No children and now 37.

Relaxation techniques anyone? Usually to serious sports to chill out, but told not to and rest.

Oh wildwind, what a terrible time for you.

My fingers, toes and anything else is crossed for you that your baby will be Ok and the bleeding stops.

It's hard when you're used to active sports to chill out. When I miscarried the first thing I did when they told me the baby had died at 11wks was go out on my mountain bike. However you need to rest and I suppose there is relaxation tapes you can try. I normally read to unwind but found I couldn't concentrate on anything - just spent most of the days staring at meaningless day time TV and switching over every time babies or pregnancy was mentioned.

Anyway sorry I haven't got lots of wisdom to share, just wanted to let you know you and your hubby are not alone and sending you a big hug.

Thanks Scotlass! Needed bit support. Daytime TV braindead, but as you said - cannot concentrate on any book.

Mountainbiking my choice too. And spinning. Will now have chocolate, lots of.

Hope to have better news soon....

Hi justjules,

Wishing you all the best for this one. big hug. I think doppler would scare me if I missed a beat!

May be going for scan in between if I can't take tension any more. The Gynae unit here are very helpful, last doctor was nice but seemed very young and not too experienced. Also, I think he had some language difficulties. Next time will see consultant.

Everything crossed for you, fingers, toes, etc. Be well

Oh wildwind, sorry for your concern. Lots of hugs to you and hubby.

I had 2 m/c then got pg with my son - I bled up until 16 weeks with him and I was so worried, but I went on to have a healthy baby who is now 4! Unfortunately I have had 2 more mc since and I know the worry and difficulty in getting through each day when you are pg especially in the early days. Can you ring your GP and get him/her to get an EPU scan?
