Positive LH and positive pregnancy test at the same time after MMC

Just posting to see if anyone has had the same/a similar experience. I took misoprostol for a missed miscarriage on 6th Feb. As far as I was aware everything came away as expected that day (😞). I only bled for a day or so after.

This past week I've had a lot of ovulation symptoms, so I decided to take an LH test. It showed as pretty high and my Natural Cycles app is classing it as a positive. Although I think that's debatable, it is still quite high.

As an experiment I decided to take a pregnancy test at the same time. As you can see from the pic, this is quite a strong positive still.

I'm now feeling quite concerned as I'm 11 days post misoprostol with such a strong HCG test result.

We do want to wait for one cycle, so wouldn't be trying straight away anyway, but it all seems a bit contradictory.

Has anyone experienced anything similar or can shed any light? X

Just wanted to say I have experienced the same thing with this brand of tests, except my pregnancy test only has a faint line, the LH one is quite strong. But it has been consistently since Friday, so I think in my case the LH tests might be picking up the HCG (when I searched online it mentioned this could sometime happen?). I have another brand of LH tests which aren't showing any positive at all (I had a natural miscarriage that happened before I could decide what to do, about 2.5 weeks ago now).

I was told to return to the clinic after 2 weeks if pregnancy tests were still showing as positive.

Hi there, I had a miscarriage at 6w2d, 3 weeks ago today and I have been getting strong positives on HPT and LH tests from this brand too. But in 3x weeks has not decreased any in either and still bleeding so am thinking it is retained tissue. It’s confusing and drawn out, wish GP or Early pregnancy unit would just confirm, but have to wait another week

Hey OP @cinders92 I'm so sorry to dig this thread up, I was just wondering what happened in the end? I'm going through the same thing and my private fertility clinic is ragging on me to contact the EPU and the EPU have said the couldn't see a sac and for me to just wait a bit longer.

Hey @VolvoFan, in my case it ended up being retained tissue that didn't come out until 12 weeks later. I had scans which didn't show anything, and various blood tests which showed my HCG reducing but really slowly. They wouldn't give me pills because they couldn't see anything. I had another period like bleed but was still positive. It really, really dragged on. Then one day (TMI warning) I sneezed and something plopped out, I went to the toilet and saw tissue there. I wasn't bleeding at the time or anything, it just randomly plopped out. And after that my HCG was negative a week later.

@Paperboats thank you for this! I feel less anxious now. I tested positive on Monday and I started bleeding again this morning, but it's more like a period. So I wonder what will happen next.
