confused about different advice from nhs

On the day of my D&C (I've MMC at 6+5) I got very confusing advice about trying again. One doctor said we have to wait for two full cycles, so potentially 3 months, but the doctor doing the surgery said we can start trying after 2 weeks if we are ready.
Just so confused about how nhs same clinic, can have such different advice, and really confused what to do now, as I've had very minimal bleeding and the pregnancy test have a very faint line just after 2 days after D&C.

Do you think that the doctor that said 2 weeks meant 2 months? 2 weeks is not much time at all to heal.

Hi @vvit - sorry for your loss, hope you're doing ok. I had a mmc in December and found the same with conflicting info. At the hospital they advised to wait for one cycle so that dating is easier, but the leaflet they gave me suggests you can start as soon as you feel ready. I then saw a doctor who said she is old fashioned and advised people to wait two cycles, but she admitted that the research doesn't suggest there is any issues with ttc straight away.

I personally decided to try straight away once I stopped bleeding and had the negative pregnancy tests. Lots of people on here didn't wait and it seems fine, I think do what you feel most comfortable with

@cushioncovers I specifically told her that I've been told I have to wait for two full cycles, and she said it's not right, and research shows that you are more fertile in the first 3 months, and there wouldn't be any reason to wait. So seems very confusing, my friend in the same hospital has been told 2 weeks, but some have been told 6 months.

Not sure who to believe anymore

yes it’s confusing. My gp said can try after 2 weeks, the EPU hospital said wait until my first period comes back

im sorry I just re read . My 2x MMC happened naturally so I’m not sure if it’s different for D&C x

I had a D&C and my gynaecologist told me to try again after one cycle. That was just so that it made dating easier. FWIW I also later had an unexplained stillbirth, and the advice was the same. In fact, my gynaecologist told me not to wait, to just go for it again. Good luck

Recent research shows there’s no risk in trying again immediately, in fact you are more likely to get pregnant again if you don’t wait. Waiting two weeks is just because it makes dating easier. Sorry for your loss.
